Michael Carter I am familiar with this band but not this early incarnation.More psychedelic, different style of vocals but still there elements of what is to come,a more gritty mentally messed up entity. This is definitely worth getting. The final track is lengthy but I think the most interesting.

fyeahmetal Career trajectory-wise, this initial demo reminds me of early Electric Wizard in terms of its classic European doom leanings. The German band Eremit currently explores similar psychedelic/stoner territory. It's a long ways from the misery-soaked sludge Noothgrush is known for, but still quite enjoyable. The bass-heavy mix may perk up ears of Om fans. Favorite track: 8D8.

Rob St. Amant I had a 10th generation cassette dub of these songs back in the early 1990s, so it's great to finally hear them as they were meant to be heard. As an added surprise, the artwork actually features a "Noothgrush on my toothbrush"! Favorite track: deterioration.

about

Crusty torturous doom, truly refined in it's execution. Unlike the later releases that defined the sludge genre, this album is more funeral doom with clean, depressing vocals in symbiosis with noise and moog synths. Featuring Tom Choi of ASBESTOSDEATH (pre-SLEEP) on guitar.
NOOTHGRUSH have recorded these songs shortly after the band was conceived in 1994 and were released only on a handful of cassettes. None of them appear on any other release except a rearranged version of one song.
